Our church is a thriving church family in Arlington, Texas. The Word of God is priority here because it is the foundation and source of life. Relationships are also an intricate and life-giving part of this church.

Cornerstone Baptist Church was founded by Rev. Wm. Dwight McKissic, Sr. in October of 1983. From the first service with 9 adults and 15 children, God has blessed Cornerstone to grow into a church of over 3,000 with an average attendance of 1,100 plus on any given Sunday. We are greatly honored by your presence and seek to serve you in any way that will spiritually enrich your life.

Cornerstone was formed to corporately and publicly worship, praise, glorify, and give thanks to the Trinity, God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; to minister the Word of God to believers; to promote fellowship among the body of Christ; and to promote evangelism at home and abroad. In short, our purpose is to exalt the Savior, evangelize sinners, edify the saints and elevate society.

We have many ministries and activities at Cornerstone designed for every age and level of spiritual development. Pastor McKissic and his wife, Vera would like to encourage you to get involved in these activities and ministries and experience the difference that Jesus Christ and an exciting church family can make in your life.

We Believe
There is one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. That the Bible is God's written revelation to man, and that it is verbally inspired, authoritative, and without error in the original manuscripts.

In the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death on the cross to provide for our redemption, bodily resurrection and ascension into heaven, present ministry of intercession for us, and His return to earth in power and glory. In the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit, that He performs the miracle of the new birth in unbelievers and indwells believers, enabling them to live godly lives.

That man was created in the image of God, but because of sin, was alienated from God. Only through faith, trusting in Christ alone for salvation that was made possible by His death and resurrection, can that alienation be removed.

The Bible teaches that once a person is truly saved they are sealed with the Holy Spirit (Eph. 1:13) and are secure in Christ.

The Bible does not teach security in a place called Heaven, (one third of the angels fell from Heaven). Rather, it teaches security in a person, Jesus Christ. Jesus said, No one can snatch them out of my hand (John 10:28).

The Bible does not teach unconditional security. The condition to our security is that we must truly be saved. Someone who claims to be saved, yet lives a life of continual, habitual sin is like the person Paul warned Jude about in Jude 4. They are godless men, who change the grace of God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign Lord and God. The person who lives like this is not saved and is living with a sense of false security (Hebrews 6:4-8; I John 3:6).

Our vision is to develop a multi-regional, multi-racial congregation headquartered in South Central Arlington, committed to expository preaching, biblical and demonstrative praise and worship, small group discipleship, a specific ministry to the fatherless and aggressive and innovative evangelism that's done not only across the street but around the world.
